Robert Dowey Jr. IS Iron Man, and he proves in summer movie season opening Iron Man.

Robert Dowey Jr. plays Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) a heavy-drinking, billioniare playboy genius. Ever since a young age, Tony has worked on computers and machinery. And he hasn't stopped an inch running Stark Industries, the largest weapon running company in the world. With his loyal (and possible lover) Potts Pan at his side, he continues to fight the war on terror. That is until he gets his "eyes opened" and attacked by the weapons he made himself, and helt hostage by the Afganistan terrorist leaders. There, he must build weapon in less than 48 hours. Only he goes and makes a full metal suit that is jack-full of machinery. Once home, he must fight former friends and fix the damage he has done.

For a superhero movie, this is the closet to a realistic superhero movie I've ever seen since I saw Batman Begins. While still having the fun and entertainment value of the first few Spider-Man films. This film seems to be the (almost) perfect balance of the two. It has an award-winning cast, and probably award-winning performances. Especially from leading man Robert Dowey Jr. Who is able perfectly to channel the superhero and human quailities of Tony Stark in one package. This performance have probably got the best publisity from a superhero movie since Jack's performance as the Joker in Batman. And it also has great special effects that are the best I have seen since Cloverfield and Transformers.

And while I say all this praise, I was still not fully statisfied. I felt that the ending battle was way too cliche, and was hoping for a little better. And, like any superhero movie, this does have it's plot holes. Plus, I failed (for the most part) to laugh completely at the anticts of this film. But, then again, I was expecting too much comedy from comedy director Jon Fraveru. Who you all may be familiar with from Swingers and directing Elf.

But, for a summer opening as far as films go, this is very promising. I just wish the other films are this smart and entertaining.

Iron Man- A STRONG 8/10- Really Good
